The Local Lap


The Local Lap is a copyright-protected motorsports television program, created by Mike Davis and produced by The Local Lap, LLC. Each 30-minute episode goes trackside to cover the action, interviews and showcases drivers of all disciplines, and captures the rich racing traditions on the local level where race drivers develop their talents. The Local Lap is dedicated to bringing grassroots racing action into the living rooms of diehard race fans, and to expose new fans to many great racing facilities. The show has enjoyed a groundswell of support on all levels. The Local Lap motto is, Where the racers and fans stay connected! The Local Lap currently airs on FOX Sports Networks throughout the Midwest.

	Mike Davis, President Over the past 35 years, Mike Davis has made lifelong friends in the racing community. Brought up in a racing family, motorsports has been his passion since early childhood. Being the son of a car owner, he developed his love for motorsports while traveling across the country to short tracks. Davis remains passionate about motorsports on all levels, with his goal for this program to expose new fans to motorsports by showcasing as many talented individuals and short track racing facilities as possible.
	Jim Tretow, Host Veteran motorsports broadcaster Jim Tretow has worked on live event auto racing telecasts nationally since 1996, and is currently an auto racing pit reporter during live broadcasts on SPEED TV. Since 1985, he has hosted a weekly motorsports radio program in the Milwaukee, Wis. market that covers local, regional and national events. In addition, Jim is a NASCAR event track announcer at Daytona International Speedway and Phoenix International Raceway. His wealth of knowledge and passion for the sport translates well with the audience.
	Bill Holland, Host What started as a television news reporter career has blossomed into a 20-plus year opportunity for Bill Holland to share his love of motorsports by filming, documenting and reporting on motorsports events in his native Wisconsin for over 20 years. His tireless efforts to capture the action and give the viewer the racer’s perspective is evident in each episode of “Bill Holland’s In The Groove”, an integral component of The Local Lap. Field reporter, camera operator, editor, story teller…Bill Holland can do it all.
	Dean Strom, Contributing Reporter Dean Strom’s father was racing modifieds five or more nights a week when he started going to the short tracks around the upper Midwest. Dean is passionate about motorsports, which has led to career opportunities at a racing trade publication, as a NASCAR series PR representative for a number of years, and as a track representative. He’s worked on radio and has track announced events ranging from weekly short tracks to major national events. The energetic presentation of his reports on The Local Lap is appreciated by racers and viewers alike.
